I’m reading a biography about Marilyn Monroe right now, and am surprised by how much I like it – especially because the author includes a good bit about fashion from the 1940s through 1960s. I love vintage clothes; my prom dress was a pearly green 1950s ball gown. I need to find an excuse to wear it again, but bustles aren’t too practical for everyday life. Still, all the talk of wiggle dresses, sweetheart necklines, and even gold lamé makes a girl want to go shopping!

This dress with gorgeous side draping is only $95!

Simple and classic, and I love the eggplant color.

Vintageous even has an authentic  black version of the (in)famous Travilla dress that Marilyn wore to promote The Seven Year Itch.
